I've got the BlackBerry Classic and would like to install the square app so I can leave the touch behind me.

BUT I don't see Square in bbworld. Anyway I can install it?

I am an occasional street vender and taking the occasional credit card payment is handy.

I'd really appreciate it you would email it to me. Sideloading sounds like beyond my skills.

There are 3 ways of installing an Android app, Amazon appstore being the easiest. However, you may not get the latest version in Amazon appstore.

.bar is the app format that needs to be sideloaded
.apk is the app format for Android and can be directly installed

The other two methods are through Snap or Cobalt's method. None of these methods are beyond your skills; if I can do it, so can you!

Snap (if you have a PC):
    - Download Snap bar file from http://redlightoflove.com/snap/
    - Download Chrome Playbook extension
    - Go to device settings on your Classic --> Security and Privacy --> Development Mode ON (it will ask for PW)
    - Connect your device to the PC and open extension
    - In my case the IP address is automatically detected, if not enter the IP address in the Development mode (just below the toggle)
    - Ignore the warnings and just proceed until you reach the main screen where all the apps will be listed
    - drag and drop the .bar file and click install
    _________________ End of Snap method______________

Cobalt's method (this was developed by a developer on Crackberry Cobalt232. This does not require a PC. Just direct downloads of .apks):

    - Install Google Login. When installation completed, do not choose run. Press the back button.

    - Install Blackberry Google ID. When installation completed, do not choose run. Press the back button.
Go to BlackBerry device settings --> Accounts --> Third party accounts (under it Google account)

    - Install Google Play Store. When installation completed, do not choose run. Press the back button.

    Step 2
    - Run Google Play Store. Login app will be invoked and you will be asked enter your Gmail account and password
    - Close the login app and close Play Store

In case the second method looks too overwhelming, here is the screenshot of the original thread.

I posted the link of the .apk mentioned with each instruction to avoid confusion of going back and forth between links and instructions.
