Soundhound will not work on my passport. It can't hear the sound. Keeps telling me it didn't catch that. All permissions are on. Shazam told me another app is using my microphone. I have emailed support several times and haven't heard back.

As SoundHound hasn't updated they app in BlackBerry World since Dec 4th, 2013... I would not hold my breath waiting for a reply that will give you a solution from them.

    1) do a hard reset and then try SoundHound.
    2) Check to see if their are any headless apps running that might be interfering - kill them all. check SoundHound again.
    3) delete SoundHound and try to reinstall. check SoundHound again.
    4) delete SoundHound and install from Google Play. check SoundHound again.

I downloaded shazam from play and it doesn't work either. I don't know how to see what's running and stop it. I already reinstalled it. I will try a hard reset.

I too am having the same problem with both apps. I have never gotten the error where the app specifically says that there is a conflict with or it cannot access the mic but it won't recognize any song.

I checked the permissions on both apps and they have full access to all requested and required fields so I too am a bit confused as to why it's not working.

Shazam worked flawless for me since I have had my Passport then about....I would say six or so updates ago is when it went sideways on we and stopped working correctly.

doing that, works detecting the song in your mobile, but the idea is to make it work when you listen to some songs where you don't have access to its name, like a tv ad or at the pub and you wanna know the name of the song.

Hi Mauri5io, I know what is the app for.
The procedure I wrote above is exactly to find the name from TV and so on. And not for the song on your device.
That is, why you must set the volume to Zero.
But because of software lack of some OS 10.3, you must let running any song in the background to detect an other song from an extrernal source!
