Pls. could anyone explain why after installing an app from Google Play store I receive this warning: "...won't run without Google Play services, which are not supported by your device"
Some apps require Google Play Services, which doesn't come with BB10.
There are workarounds:
Cobalt's file share:
https://mega.nz/#F!lIUWjSSQ!yoLoiNX3PNG3Sef1Fa_fMA
Install and login with 4.3.3.
Install and register with 2.8.
Install Play Services v10.
Update 4.4.4 over 4.3.3 (but don't open).
Install Play Store v6.
Install whitelist 1.0.0.6.
If an app requires Google Play Services:
Download app with Cobalt's Play Store (but don't install).
Whitelist unpatched app.
Patch app on PC with Play Services Patcher 1.6 using defaults settings.
Install patched app.
If after all that, your app still won't work, then it's simply not compatible with BB10.
Thanks. Let me see how it goes.
Difficult to get play services patcher 1.6; and where to download "cobalt play store"?
Everything is in the link.
Hi sorry I am encountering the same problem and I have clicked on the link given, but I could not open the files? Only option "open in Mega App" is available but then when I click on it it says "JavaScript Alert - this device is unsupported"?
P.S. I am on Classic
Use your PC.
Tried that too... downloaded it but couldn't be installed on the device.. it says failure.... *kill me*
Download to PC. Transfer all files except for Patcher 1.6 to your device, then install from the device as per instructions.
Okay will try that.. thank you so much for your help! :)
Have done all the steps except last "Patch app on PC with Play Services Patcher 1.6 using defaults settings."
So the file can only be used on a Windows PC and I am on a Mac.... Oh my... *cry*
"You can’t open the application “PS_Patcher-1.6.exe” because Microsoft Windows applications are not supported on macOS."
Yes, you need a computer. Macs don't count.
