I finally upgraded from my Z10 to Z30, I had to choose a phone because of my plan, so don't kill me. Love the z30 but I do have a hard time reaching the top of the screen when using one handed.

So reading up on the sneak peak we got of the new slider, I was wondering what the community thought of a side slider? A Z30 with a bottom slide keyboard I just weird and uncomfortable, not to mention a challenge to balance the phone. But a side slider would actually give you a passport style phone (sort of) that could actually fit in your pocket.

    Any thoughts ?

PS check out the Nokia C6 S60, and the E7

No, a super wide physical keyboard would be horrible.

That's what I thought, but then remembered I type with both thumbs on my 7" tabs without issue and a z30 in landscape is smaller... just saying...

I don't think it would be as comfortable as you think. Personally, I love the portrait mode slider. It's a great form factor and you can more easily go from screen to keyboard. I'm also not someone who has ever used many of my devices in landscape mode. (The Passport is really the first device I find myself using in landscape and it has the 1:1 aspect ratio)

I loved sliding open the Torch to answer calls and sliding it closed to end them. A landscape slider would not feel natural for this.

But on a torch you have the answer/hangup buttons to do this.

    To each his own right!
