I really miss having a blackberry and have been looking at the classic. The question I have is will it be able to do everything I want it to. Im a Google play music subscriber so will the phone be able to get the app and let me download songs for offline listening??? After my 4 month free trail of Goole music I will be going back to amazon music so will this app also run on there. There isn't much else I would need it to do to be fair just the usual social media stuff

Usual Social Media Stuff... isn't so usual on BB10.

I'd say NO... as Google Play Music isn't a clear functioning app on BB10... lots of people say even with patching it doesn't work. Most Social you can get... again with work arounds, but not all.... and there is no guarantee what works today will work tomorrow.

The Amazon Music app works fine (download it through Amazon Underground rather than a cracked version of Google Play).

The only exception I've found is when you download Amazon Prime songs and try to play them locally (not streaming). Then the music stutters and fails. I think it's something to do with DRM. Doesn't apply to music that you've purchased.

I would say no. And I would say the same to anyone who planned to use their device mainly just for 'a couple of apps'. If you are going to use your device primarily for calls, texts, and emails, then the Classic would be a great choice. As for ANY apps (especially social media), there may be working versions or alternatives available, but for how long those will work or how much 'maintenance' (read: 'work-arounds') they will require to keep functional is anyone's guess.

If you just miss BlackBerry and want to jump back in with the brand, their current Android offerings make much more sense at this point. And this is coming from someone who is still a die-hard BB10 user. Just being honest, if I was going to buy a new device tomorrow, I really don't think it would be a Classic or any other BB10 device. Then again, you have to factor in everything. If you can get a great deal on an unlocked used device, go for it! Don't buy a brand new one or on a contract from your carrier until you know exactly what you are getting into though!

I would say, if you can wait a couple weeks. Possibly look at getting THIS.

It's Blackberry's next Qwerty device. It's going to be similar to the Classic but obviously running Android which will allow you to keep your Google play music subscription and not have to look for patches and work around ect. The Classic is a lovely device. It feels and looks premium, nice compact ergonomic design but as soon as people mention google Apps, its probably not for you.
