When I go the Google Play via Google and select an app, I always get a message that I have "no eligible devices for app install".

Yes, many Android apps can be used with software add-ons to help work around some of the issues. Google "Cobalt's landing page". This will tell you what you need install to get and run apps from the Google Play Store with Cobalt's software.

One of the big issues is that while new Android phones come with Android version 7.1, the BlackBerry 10 OS can only run apps that are compatible with Android version 4.3. Another issue is that newer apps are more dependent on Google Play Services which Cobalt's software can sometimes work around, but can't replace.

I followed a YouTube tutorial that used cobalt download to get Google Play Store installed on my Q10. But, for any app I try as soon as the install process starts I get a message that the Google Play Store has stopped working.

Make sure you are using version 2. Delete the old version first. I found this: "download the playstore version 2 from his mega server and transfer the apk to your phone and install it. It will work again..https://mega.nz/#F!lIUWjSSQ!yoLoiNX3PNG3Sef1Fa_fMA

It took some doing. Had to download the cobalt files on to my PC and then copy over to the BB to install. But in the end I have Build 2 up and running. Thank you.

Guys if you want an easy Google Play Store alternative then go try "Yalp Store". It draws the apps directly from the Google Play Store so they are safe.

Only thing is you won't get Google sign in or the Android settings like with cobalt.
