After reading posts from 2015 about rooting the BB Classic and running Android OS, I understand that it was not possible then; but again BB Priv was just launched and now we even have the BB KEYone running on the Andriod Nougat.

Is there a way somehow now to install the Android OS on my BB Classic?

The one and only reason I would want Android on my BB is I love my BB Classic.

The categories my usage is divided in are hereunder:
    1. Calling
    2. Email
    3. LinkedIn
    4. Whatsapp
    5. SnapChat
    6. Instagram
    7. Zomato and other food delivery apps like Scootsy, Swiggy, Dominos
    8. News updates from apps like The Washington Post, The New York Times, InShorts, Al-Jazeera, ET, NDTV
    9. Using mobile banking apps like HDFC, CitiBank, PayTm, Chillr

While I can use the first 3 categories on my BB Classic, the apps for the other categories either lag or are unavailable on the Playstore.

The only alternative to this issue that I know of, is switching to the BB KEYone, but I am just looking for other alternatives to not let go off my BB Classic, if there be any.

    Thanks again!

Not possible I'm afraid, I loved my classic but the move to a Keyone is a good move and all of the above will then work.

There is a way to run Android apps on bb10. When I had my z10 I used something Cobalt had designed. If I understand it correctly bb10 was designed to run on Android 4.4 runtime so it makes it possible to run the Google play store and use Google apps. Some apps worked great while others didn't it was a bit of a process you need to sideload files and apks into your device and follow instructions explicitly. Cobalt is the dev. And you should be able to find it here

No, never going to happen. Sory to burst your bubble but, the whole BlackBerry 10 os is locked down very well. There is no way to install a different os, even if you could someone out there would need to build android drivers for the classic hardware, which would costs lots of money, and even then Google doesn't allow for the 1:1 ratio. I also love my classic but know with certainty it will not be unlocked for an android install

It's not just that you can't gain boot access. Even if you could, the phone would never boot unless the OS you installed was properly signed by BlackBerry. If you somehow manage to install a difference OS, all you will do is brick the phone permanently.

Cobalt solution does not work for many of the apps that people want.

Very true, but at least you can play with some of the apps. I miss my z10 but at the same time glad I found Nexus
