No, you CANNOT ROOT A BlackBerry 10 OR ANDROID POWERED BY BlackBerry DEVICE. Simple as that. You can however root a google-manufactured device real easily. That is a fact.

Typed using my BlackBerry Passport running the latest QNX software release 10.3.3 on Freedom Mobile DC-HSPA+
