I was given the phone and the original BBID is not available. When it was originally set up the Security feature was turned on. I reset phone through LINK to factory setting. Can't get by the Security screen requesting the BB ID.

You will have to have the BBID..... there is no getting around that.
You can change the password if that has been forgotten... as long as you have access to the original BBID email.
You can ask whoever gave it to you to remove the phone from their account.
You will need the BBID that was used to set up BlackBerry protect. Can't you get it from the owner?
OK. Thanks. Now Have BBID and can access the phone. Now, can I change the BBID for this phone only? The same ID is on my brother-in-law's new DTEK50.
If you now have the BBid that was originally set up on the device you must now login to BBPROTECT with the same Bbid and remove the device from BB PROTECT device list.
Than you can disable BBPROTECT on the phone and security wipe phone again which will allow you to create a new BBid for yourself.
This will not affect your in laws DTEK.
