My wife refuses to replace her pink BB Q5 with another phone that's not pink. I tried installing a ver of Viber that has worked OK on my Passport in the past, but it lags around 10 mins each time a message is sent to it. I'm now using a BB Key2, and we need a reliable communication tool between us once BBM is decommissioned in about a week. Thank you for your help.

You don't need her to switch, you just need to move to BBMe. She'll still be able to chat with you. Leave her BBM as is, you upgrade to BBMe, add her as a contact on BBMe. Good to go.

Consumer BBMe is only available on Android and iOS. In order to have BBMe on BlackBerry 10 it needs to be purchased through BlackBerry Enterprise sales and costs more than consumer BBMe.

BB10 will work with BBMe by default, without needing an app. To chat with a BBMe user from BB10, the BBMe user only needs to invite the BB10's PIN to chat, so they will be in each other's BBM Contacts as soon as the BB10 user accepts.

I've found finding info on getting BBMe on BB10 to be next to impossible.

I'm glad that BBM on BB10 isn't going anywhere at this point 😁
