    Hey all,

Rather simple question to any other fellow Z10 owners; have any of you replaced your original battery yet? If so, how long from the date of purchase was it?

I ask as I am probably going to replace my original battery (new in May 2013) as my battery life has progressively gotten worse. I wanted to rule out the phone itself as being the problem before I throw any kind of money at the problem.

And yes, I have utilized all battery saving tips (NFC and Blue tooth off, LTE turned off for 4G, brightness completely down, etc.). I have done multiple restarts and the like and have oddly found the battery to even lose life while on the charger in some cases (charger is a genuine BlackBerry 1.8 amp charger, found at http://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00JZYP...UvbUpU10938869).

I figured a replacement battery is in order at this point. Is 1.5 years a reasonable time frame to have to replace the battery?

    Thanks!

Batteries have just a 1 year warranty. They are classed as wear and tear items.

From lenovo you can buy an additional warranty for integrated batteries.

In Germany you have to consider that all electronic items have 2 year warranty, unlike the US and most other places where it is just one year.

But batteries still just have one year.

You can complain to BlackBerry and hope that they give you one out of goodwill. Buying one will set you back around 10 bucks...

    And yeah:
When you battery lasts for over 1 year, it was working great.

You could consider getting the battery bundle....

Thanks for the reply. I knew as much, as most peripheral tech items carry a 1 year warranty at best, but I've had other batteries last 2 year or better. I was more or less wondering if 1.5 years was typical for a Z10 battery before severe degradation occurred.

The degradation just happens because of heat in excess of 30degree Celsius. The hotter the battery gets, the faster it dies.... the z10 likes to heat up quite a bit....

Lithium batteries just degrade at the end of their life... as you noticed....dramatically

Yes, it does achieve 100% while charging in most cases (usually when I leave it plugged in overnight).
