    On my Q10 there is an intermittent red light at the top that flashes, it's next to the facetime camera. It flashes at random times, frequently when I'm on a phone call.

    I'm not trying to be paranoid, but it's not the notifications red light, so I'm curious why it's happening and what is causing the light to flash.

    If it is a privacy related issue what suggestions do you have to better secure my phone?

    It's the proximity sensor that, when your face is close to the phone, the screen will shut off.

    Exactly what PDinos said, it's the proximity sensor.
