I'm in the process of replacing m'lady's LCD on her Q5, and when taking it apart, a small metallic screw-like piece fell out, and I can't seem to find where it came from. I've look at pics of the motherboard and such online, and also have tried hunting around the parts, but can't seem to find where it's supposed to go. I've attached a pic of it. I look forward to reading from you :-)

I watched a Q5 disassembly video, but didn't see anything that looked like it. The image is not all that clear. Is it just a double ended pin or is it threaded?

It's a double-ended pin, with one side longer than the other.

A double ended pin like that would be for positioning two assemblies that fit together. I'd be surprised if there was just one, so I'd take a good look around to see if there are any others. Use a magnifying glass to make sure you don't miss anything.

OK, thank you. I just realized after tinkering around for a while that the replacement bezel that came with the replacement LCD was broken, so I just put the old one in-place until I get it exchanged. I'll take a deeper look when I get the replacement LCD & bezel (digitizer).
