My Q10 only shows pictures and videos in letterbox format. Whether I'm taking a picture or looking at a picture, it's the same format.
For a phone that has a really small, and really square screen, that's a strange thing. My phone displayed everything in full screen when I got it 12 months ago.
I've searched everywhere and cannot find anything on this. What am I doing wrong? I'm also finding that I can't swipe across to see the rest of a webpage (where it's larger than the screen) unless I touch the part of the screen that doesn't have an active frame, if that makes sense?
Can you please make a screenshot from (any picture) you're viewing and post it here? (screenshot is made by volume up and down simulnaeously and is saved in your phone default folder)...
I could not change any option... so may be I understand more.
Are you talking from "thumb nails" so click on one picture then scroll on the screen. Take new pics 1:1 and view them... is it solved??
Are you using a picture viewing app? Or the original picture viewer of your cam/phone?

The only thing I noticed, only 1:1 taken pics fill up the screen. The 4:3 and 16:9 pics show up with black rows. Up and down (or to the sides) if shown in viewe. Here's an example:
Same object, 3 different photos, taken 3 times, first 1:1, second 4:3 and third 16:9
Here we go:
When viewed, the first photo fills up the whole screen (that's how I take my selfies for What'sApp and BBM's squared profile-foto)...
The other two show "letterbox" as you say.

Ah hah! That was it. It was the photos taken in 16:9 that were displaying in 16:9. Such obvious solutions to problems that for some reason, completely eluded me.
