Have you added a new app lately? My Z10 was draining the battery and heating up to. The only thing that fixed it for me was to reload the OS. Something is running in the background and draining your battery.

Before re-loading the OS you might try a couple of things first. Chances are something is hung up in the background causing the heating and draining of your battery.
    1. Turn on Airplane Mode for at least 5 minutes
    2. Perform a hard restart by holding the volume up and down keys down until the q10 reboots

Once I do these I don't touch the phone for about 30 minutes, giving it time to rest and cool down.

Every now and then my q10 does the same thing and performing these tasks has always fixed my issue.

    I hope it helps you.

    Good luck!

Check device manager, see what's eating up your phone causing it to heat. If there is nothing try the reboots. If that doesn't work reload os. If that doesn't work try yet another battery.

You will lose everything is not on the SD Card.

You can perform a back up first. Then when you re load just restore your back up. Although some application you have downloaded may be the problem. Likely culprits are android apps.

Blackberry has to really come up from the grave if it has to compete with the leading Mobile Companies. Considering the problem i never opted for BB instead i'm happy with my rooted android phone with Cyanogen on it. Works like charm.
