Q10 Gesture vs screen scrolling

I like having a BB again but I must admit I have a very hard time with gestures and just panning around the Q10 screen.

It is so frustrating. You try to pan right from a message in BB Hub and the next thing you know you're out of it and back to the desktop. All I wanted to do is move the window to the right to see the whole message.
OR
You want to scroll the page up in BB Hub and you guessed back to the desktop again.
OR
You scroll down only to find out you've open the settings menu.

Am I the only one that has trouble with this?
Yeah I know it makes a difference where you start from on the screen but it seems the two commands are so close that it is hard to concentrate on getting them exactly right to do what you need to do.

Is anyone getting me here???

The key is when scrolling start from the middle on the left or right hand side. I have had it minimize on me a couple of times, but I just trained myself to scroll from the middle left.
