No. Passport cannot run full Android.

No they cannot. You are sadly mis-informed!

Because BlackBerry hasn't made BB10 for the Priv. Only software signed by BlackBerry can be installed. The BB10 drivers for the 808 SoC don't even exist.

And cannot even be jailbroken/rooted (without Hardware Modifications) - so installing ANY other Firmware than official nowadays impossible

But usually thats why you decide to go with Blackberry and not some Chinese Brand

It will be possible for another Android OS rendition to be installed. But all the Android drivers for the priv will have to be in the distro.
As yet I do not think anyone is working on that .
Naturally when you jailbreak and it is possible you lose any guarantee

    How so?

How do you plan to get around a locked bootloader and hardware root of trust?

And that is the tricky bit and involves encoding at high level there are currently 15 teams in three countries working on this apparently, there is some kind of $10,000,000 prize for achievement. But it is entirely inter-governmental.
I will not go into the details here but I know it is possible to do.
No need to worry about the secure boot loader in BlackBerry Android because that has its own keys and interfaces appropriately with the hardware root of trust .
The binder between the hardware root of trust and a new protected bootstrap is formed on the machine itself at installation.
Whatever software you use has to tie itself into hardware.
Since the hardware is not built buy BlackBerry it is reasonable to assume that that particular route of trust is generic in nature .
BlackBerry cannot give the Chinese or the Indians the same high level of Security System that it could have deployed itself .
So yes I believe that this will be achievable since the current route of trust allows you to change most key parts including the battery.
Cogeneration of the new locking key should not be a major hassle to those that know how it's done .

For the EOL 2015 BlackBerry Priv? Seems like a ridiculous project. I have a hard time buying that.

No one wants to wreck any later Gear. But if they are successful with the priv later DTEK will be a bit easier to do. Many of us have 2 year guarantee with our 2 year contracts
