I'd like to know what's the difference between Android port and native app on a BB10 device. I understand that a port is sort of a remake for BB based on Android apk (right?). Does having ported apps affect performance? Are they somehow connected to the Android runtime that all BB devices have?

Ported apps are Android apk's that have been turned into a bar file so that they can be put on BlackBerry world. They are the same as apk's and use the runtime. Native runs faster, smoother and possibly uses Cascades ui.

Some ports no longer work on BB10 devices, because they are not updated. Do you have a specific port that you want to use?

I'm using Ghost Commander, qR scanner and napo chess game (not sure if it's ported but judging from its behavior it is..)). Just wanted to know how these ports affect device's speed and how much battery they eat compared to a similar native app.
