Before the update, I could contact friends on my Z10 on Video Chat. All I had to do was go into contacts and then press PlayBook Video Chat. Since the update I have lost that option in some contacts, but not all. How do I get that back? I would still like to continue video chatting with friends on my phone who use a Playbook.

Hey, there, while I do not have your answer, don't be surprised if there is no way, as the PlayBook became unsupported a little while back.

Yes, that is what I am thinking, but why would they not include it as an option on their new update, as it was functional on 10.2? I hope it is only a glitch that will be fixed on a future update. It would be really inconvenient to not be able to contact my friends with my Z10 who still use their PlayBooks (and I realize the number that do are dwindling).
As a side note, I have my old PlayBook connected to my receiver and use Nobex to listen to radio stations all over the world on a daily basis, so I still use my ( just for that reason) a lot!!

My playbook is still working with video chat after the update on my passport.

Could I suggest that you take one of the non working contacts and re save the contact and confirm the bbm email address and PIN are correct.

Maybe some of the info in ur contacts has changed.

Hi there . Same problem here , after updating P9982 to OS 10.3 there is no possible to take video call on it from PB. Is there some workarounds ? How can we have video chat PB vs OS 10.3 ?

If you use the BBID email as the destination on the PlayBook the video call will go through. As for from a handset, I haven't really found a way yet.

You can still add a playbook to your phone, at least I could on my passport running the latest OS.

I added the playbook email and pin as a contact into my passport. Then I called my passport from my playbook and hung up. Then I called my playbook from my passport (by opening the last chat in the HUB) and hung up. After a couple of minutes, the playbook video chat option was in the contact for the Playbook in my passport. It seemed to need to sync or something.

Took a while to figure it out, but you can still do it.

    Hi there,

It's all about the PlayBook Pin numbers of your friends.

You have to modify the profiles in the contact app (of the BB 10).

    1. Find out the Pin number of the PlayBook

    2. Add the Pin number to the profile of your contact.

After that the "PlayBook Video Chat" symbol will appear in the profile within seconds.

It looks like the BB 10 contact app is automatically checking (with the BlackBerry server) if a Pin belongs to a PlayBook or a phone. If the Pin belongs to a phone, you will get the "invite to BBM" symbol, but if it belongs to a Playbook, the "PlayBook Video Chat" symbol appears.

And yes, this means that some of my contacts are listed with two Pin numbers, one for BBM and one for the PlayBook.

PS: The Pin number of the PlayBook can be found in the settings under "info".

I had my contacts set up like this from Z10 launch day. That worked fine for about a year.
Then one SW release came out and the PlayBook Video Chat icons vanished, and nothing I tried could bring them back.
Then after the latest 10.3.1.2708 release, the icons came back after another year and I have them now.

    Go figure...

Wow I didn't even know that this was doable. Just tested and it works fine between my PlayBook and my Z30 on Z30STA100-3/10.3.2.281.

I found the same thing last night. I added a contact to my Z10 called PlayBook, dropped it's pin onto it and did the same with the PlayBook's contacts.

Time to load BBM on her LG and see if it will work Android to PlayBook, that way we can chat when I go out of town. A rocking device if it does. (need to see if they've added BBM video chat on Android first)
