    Long shot. Hoping to use a playbook as a media player but have no apps on the device. Anyway to set it up? I can not attach to a computer. The port is not working. I only have a browser on the playbook

    Download and install Nobex (free) from BBW and also Kalemsoft Media Player ($4.99) from BBW. You can stream media from any PC or DLNA device. There is no better media player . Also check out TopMusic app (free) in BBW.

    Without the USB port, you are stuck with BlackBerry World.

    If you are missing BlackBerry World, you're out of luck.

    No--you need BBW on your PlayBook. I think your Playbook is useless since the usb port is non-functional. You need that to reload the complete OS.

    Wow Somehow I was able to do an update. I now have BlackBerry world back. Now to figure out if I can connect as a Bluetooth player

    You will find that the bluetooth module on the PlayBook is brutally primitive but hopefully will do what you want. Glad to hear you got the update done.
