Hi,

I'm confused with the password screens. I set a picture password and use it regularly to unlock my device.

Then sometimes a numeric keypad drops in and requires me to enter my password. One case I know for sure: having a call longer than the timer set to lock the screen triggers the numpad to come up after finishing the call and requesting unlock of the screen.

The numpad then comes up at various unidentified occasions -- as instead of the picture password, to obfuscate the user, check whether the user didn't forget their password, or whatever. *Is there any defined way how to bring up a numpad instead of the picture password screen, please?* (maybe I use it not knowing what it causes)

There is one other occasion when a different keypad occurs: exceeding 5 attempts to log in. Then an alphanumeric keypad appears to enter my numeric password. I tried to enter my BlackBerry password, but that is not excepted. It's only the numeric password that is valid here. So, is the alphanumeric keypad another obfuscation and an obstruction against thiefs?

I have another issue with the picture password: it takes few minutes to show after a fresh boot of the OS. Swiping up the screen shows nothing (background).

The picture password behaved like a normal app. I could send it to background.

Experienced it the second time now. I was asked for my numeric password instead of the picture password once when trying to unlock phone after a restart.

A numeric keypad is shown up (when unlocking) definitely, when there a task reminder occurred. Uff!

This has been my issue since forever. Can't unlock my phone for a few minutes...

Sounds like BlackBerry better get a fix out. I'm not having trouble on my z30 but my mom finally had to go back to numeric because the picture password numbers won't stop moving when she does on her z10. I think one of my daughters has had it happen too.

I have this issue since a few months, I suspect oit comes up only with encryption turned on.

Do you mean the device or the media card encryption, please?

I have the same issue on my Passort (unlocked version). For around 10% of my phone unlocks on an average day, the picture unlock disappears and the device asks me for my regular unlock password. It seems to happen quite randomly and obviously annoying.

I've secured wiped my phone a couple of times and updated the OS multiple times (on the latest leaked OS now but the issue is still there. Any ideas?

My phone is not encrypted and has minimal apps.
