Hi all,

My passport no longer charges unless I reboot the phone. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if you found a fix?

Hi, having the same issue here since yesterday. There are another 2 threads about the issue still without pinpointing the cause. The potential causes range from a faulty Usb cable, charger to a software safety setting (Usb power surge) triggered by an uneven power source. The former 2 causes can be easily confirmed using different cables and charging blocks, the third one is still unexplained.

I have changed power cables and so that is ruled out.

I sent my phone in for repair, but BlackBerry denied fixing it saying their was moisture damage. Never got it wet, so I don't know how that could be.

To me it seems software related, if all I have to do is reboot to get it charging.

I'll tell you this, I won't by another phone unless it's rated water proof. So likely the next will be a Sony.

Well if is a moisture issue would it be possible to return to the original condition by drying the phone (rice bag trick or whatever other solution?). I will have to wait till back from holidays before starting fiddling with the Passport.
