My BlackBerry Passport's rear (main) camera will not focus, what can I do? Also I can hear a rattle when I shake the device, I haven't dropped the device and there is no damage to suggest this may have happened.

Same here, it's a software issue.

Ironic really since blackberry wants to "go in to software" but they can't get their own camera to work right under normal conditions.

I use camera++ on my passport, a third party app, no issues with auto focus, native camera is just not practical in those spare of the moment snaps.

I'm sorry to say it, but if you can hear something rattling it's a hardware issue: http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=1026236

I had to get mine replaced by my carrier...

Interesting. I don't have any focus issues with my PP but I do have the small rattling noise if I shake the device. Had never shaken device or heard anything until I read this post. I wonder if this is a common build phenomenon or if it will ultimately become a camera problem.
