My question is whether you should charge your phone overnight, even if it's not fully drained? Does this affect battery life?

    Thanks.

That's no problem. The device will stop charging once at 100%.

You should charge your device overnight. It does not matter if it still has 90% left or 10%. What you should not do is constantly drain it below 10% IMHO. This is the case for lithium ion batteries. Now sit back and listen to ALL the differences in replies.

Well, it will trickle charge once it reaches 100%

Regarding the OP, there is no issue doing this. But if the device has 90% of something, there is no need to leave it charging over night.

Also, just extra info, never let the battery dip below 15%. This may cause damage to the battery and lower the amount of charge the battery can hold.
