    when I get new messages in text, email or Facebook...there are no red asterisk indicator on the icon. I have to click in to the messenger to see that I have new messages....pls help.

    I'm on Priv too.
    I'll have a red a spark on the relevant category of Hub if I expand left side.

    Just checked and BBM icon gets a spark. I hid my email icons and I actually haven't had a single Facebook notification since I got the Priv.

    Hope that helped. I'll update with more info if/when I have it.

    i don't see any of the red asterisk in any of the icons on my homepage (messenger, bbm, facebook, etc). I would have to either go into individual app to see the new messages. I can only tell i have new messages when i slide down when on main screen.

    i played around with all the settings and still can't seem to find the solution.

    I'm getting so frustrated...lol...anyone know how to do a 'hard reset'? maybe that'll help?

    You can try going to Settings -> Storage -> Clear cache, then hit the Multitasking button and clear all, then reboot.

    That didn't work. Been trying to contact Blackberry...the answer they gave me didn't help at all..."turn on the notification in settings"....obviously I made sure of that before I called....i did a hard reset and the problem still exists....i'm wondering if it's a common software problem that other users are experiencing as well? If so, I can just wait for the update....just wish Blackberry would be more responsive and more resourceful.
