So, I just bought a Passport and everything is fine

    EXCEPT for LTE/4G not working

My provider said on their side everything is set up correctly and it must be the phone (they don't even know the Passport...)

So what can I try to make LTE work - I really need it, because it's the only data connection available in my area.

When I turn off the device, take out the sim card, turn it on again, go to network settings and put in the sim card again, there's the option to choose LTE for a few second, but (I guess as soon at the phone has propperly connected to my provider) it disapears and theres only 2G, 2G & 3G and 3G available in the list...

    can anybody help? :/

PS: The 10.3.3 update is not available for me yet...

Are you sure the Sim card is 4G ready? Please check that out first.

(I'm the OP - just had to create an account to reply)

Yes definitely - LTE has worked until yesterday with my old phone (Lumia 950)

Probably the radio (software) or the antenna (hardware) . You are either have to do a clean reinstall with autoloader, or have a faulty antenna.

How save is it to install 10.3.3 on my phone? I really don't want to brick it, or lose warranty...

Very save. It's very difficult to brick BB10 device . Do it, bro.

Look through this thread.. BB10 Leaked/Beta OS - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com. lots of info there.

Personally I'd go with an Autoloader using a PC.... you can find a thread with instructions and with archived files.

Have you 1st confirmed that your Passport is compatible with the LTE frequencies your carrier uses?

I used this instruction (2nd last post) http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...sport-1097574/

Yes - my provider uses 20 (800 MHz), 3 (1800 MHz) and 7 (2600 MHz) - all of which are supported by the PP (I checked in the settings)

weird ... now it says it's software version: 10.3.2.2836 and OS version: 10.3.3.2163

    Does this seem right?
No, it is not right. Anyway just download the CORRECT 10.3.3.2205 autoloader and start over again. It only takes 10-15 minutes to flash.

As long as your OS is 10.3.3.2163 and radio is 10.3.3.2164 you should be fine.

Software version doesn't always update immediately, especially if you updated without using an autoloader.

Maybe reboot a few times, if you want. Or, even better, run the 2205 autoloader.

I don'T know if I misread that before, or it took a couple of minutes to update, but now my OS version numer is 10.3.3.2163 and the software version is 10.3.3.1435

    BTW - 4G LTE still doesn't work

I'll not try the 10.3.3.2205 version.

I did it with Sachesi - is that the right way to do it? I used the manual someone dumbed down in the post I linked before

  16. brookie229's Avatar
I would not have used Sachesi, but with your PC and an autoloader as we described above. Can you tell us the Radio Version you have? (settings/about/dropdown menu OS then check Radio Version). Also under your Networks and Connections/Mobile Network/ Network Mode, what choices do you have from the drop down menu there?

    Radio version is: 10.3.3.2164

I am downloading the autoloader right now - will try it this way. If LTE still not works, I'll try a hard reset.

That is correct. I am thinking that your SIM card is either faulty or incorrect. Can you find someone to swap cards with to rule that out?
edit: oops, just saw that you did that with your Lumia!

So, I've used the autoloader and the phone is now completely reset... (also there's a typo in the startup message now xD)

    But still, 4G LTE doesn't work - I can only select 3G, 3G & 2G, or 2G

Here's two screenshots - first is shortly after I insert the SIM card, and second is a few seconds later.

No LTE 4G connection possible with new Passport (10.3.2.2836 / 2876)-img_20170130_185031.jpg No LTE 4G connection possible with new Passport (10.3.2.2836 / 2876)-img_20170130_185110.jpg

Unfortunately I don't know anyone who has a different provider AND a LTE contract, so I could try their SIM card in the Passport...

Now I'm completely clueless what else to do...
    01-30-17 11:57 AM
  20. anon(10155301)'s Avatar
And like I said - my provider says on their end everything sould work - my contract is LTE enabled and that's all that they ca do. Also my APN is setup correctly...

I having this problem on virgin mobile (UK) it's a network issue as 4G works on all other network providers so may be best to ring up and find out. Or try a different sim card that has 4G it may resolve the issue.

It's a small new provider who uses the network of T-Mobile - I'm absolutely certain noone has ever heared of them xD

Also, they don't sell any devices themselfes (but only contracts), so they definitely don't care what phone I use

Inside the OS is a list entailing what to do for each provider; using a provider that isn't in that list causes issues, like in this thread: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...-code-1097247/

Even MVNOs (i.e. what you have) are in the list. I uploaded the list as of 10.3.3.2205 to Pastebin (it's big), see if you can find your carrier there: [XML] carrierIds.xml - Pastebin.com

If it's not there then that might be the issue.
