I have never been a PKB person. But the Priv got me using the PKB more and more that I am now wanting a higher spec Priv 2.

How many of you think there will be a Priv 2 and how many want a Priv 2. Share your views here and let's support and petition BlackBerry for a Priv 2.

It doesn't matter how many of us would like a Priv 2. BlackBerry lost money on Priv 1, was finished with BB10 hardware some time ago, and just announced that the DTEK60 was their last phone. BlackBerry is not making any more phones.

Yes, I agree BlackBerry is not going to design phone in house. But from what I understand, BlackBerry would still have a say on phone design with third party manufacturers. So hoping a Priv 2 will be considered.

The Priv 1 would have been a success at $500. They got the pricing wrong. But the device in itself is an innovation success. The Dtek 60 pricing is spot on.

I used a curve 8530 for about two years before going to Samsung and iPhone smartphones. Back to BlackBerry with the Priv.

Then you should know better than to suggest a petition with Blackberry handsets.

    Even the Passport was 599.
There was no way the Priv could have been priced at 500.
But it had better chances of success at $599 even.

No they will offer minimum spec guidelines which the makers have to meet - beyond that the design is down to the licence holder.

With the latest keyboard security patent that BlackBerry filed I thought there could be a Priv 2. Hmmm maybe not.

I am in the beta zone and BlackBerry takes our feedback and opinions to bring software improvements. I have never seen another phone manufacturer considering our reports and feedbacks and work towards a better user experience. Others might , but BlackBerry is very transparent with users.

Again hardware and software are two different things. But who knows, maybe they look into a petition and user expectations. Never know what might happen.

Maybe BlackBerry is no longer in the consumer hardware market where it has a close to zero market share, is no longer making phones due to having lost money on them for years, and just wants to be a profitable software company.

Chen confirms one last BlackBerry designed PKB phone. Any ideas what it might be? I really hope it is not a phone with low end specs that was leaked recently. Hope it is a Priv successor.

I think its going to be a mid range phone. From what I read, the geek testing is done and it is now with system level testing. I wished it to be a high end device. Tough luck.
