My job has me in & out of a few buildings each day & each building has little to no service. What happens is my Z10 spends it's whole day in an endless cycle of bouncing from 4g, to 3g & to 1x depending on where I'm standing. Not only does this drain the battery but it gets & stays really hot.

I still need to be able to receive calls & sms. Is there a way to get my phone to stop constantly searching for a network. If I have to ride 1x out all day so be it.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

See if you can change it to the 1x to make life better.

Open up your Mobile Network Settings by swiping down.
See if you can change your network mode.
Chance it up and see what benefits you

I live in an area where the phone signal is weak (my life is on wifi at home) so I just dial it down to 2G which is sufficient for emails, calls and texts. As long as you aren't browsing (if you are, just temporarily upgrade it as above) that will be enough, and will save your battery.

I don't have the same drop down as pictured above. I can only select from Global, CDMA & GSM.

Nonetheless, the last few days I've turned data services off altogether & it's definitely improved. Most importantly, it's not getting crazy hot.

    Thanks for the help.
