You're not the only one having problems with Windows 10 and BB Link:

Don't think that's official.. they didn't EOL it like they did Blend. But you can see how many would assume that it probably has been.

OP there are 3rd party app that will Backup much of your important data (not a full system backup thought). And there are cloud services that will sync contacts, emails, photos and even other documents.

BlackBerry has provided advice on how to deal with the Windows 10 & iTunes conflict with Link, but BlackBerry hasn't updated the Link software for more than a year now.

And meanwhile Windows, Mac OS and other software has been updated and patched.. thus causing all the problems people are experiencing.

Maybe it's core windows, maybe it's the virus/malware programs (built in or 3rd party), maybe another program that interferes with BlackBerry communications. Just a lot of folks are having issues, and probably will continue to - while others aren't.

I never did get Link working again with Windows 10. Now, instead of relying on Link to sync my Contacts and Calendar, I'm now doing that through my Outlook.com account and Office Outlook 2016. I was using iTunes with Link to update my music occasionally, but I can also do that manually.

All that left was being able to do System backup and restore. I've now installed Link on my old iMac which runs Mavericks and have been able to do a complete System backup with it. I've also got Ultimate Backup installed, but I'm not relying on it.

Since W10 and W7 are getting similar updates and others are also having problem with W7 and Link, probably yes.

There are a number of posts regarding W7 in the thread mentioned above about problems with Link and the 1607 update.

Link DOES work with Windows 10 Pro last version, which is 1607 build 14393.222.

If you have Link installed at the moment you updated your Windows copy, try again uninstalling it, and after a system restart, re install Link (version 1.2.0.52_B59). Once installed find the file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Link\BlackBerryLink.exe", right click on it, Properties, Compatibility mode and select Windows 7.
With these steps, Link and Blend should work fine. Here is the proof:

My Passport does not communicate with BB Link anymore, can you kindly help me out?-win_10_14393.222_bblink.jpg

Also, check if you have a third party antivirus or firewall software installed who could be blocking Link to connect with your device. If so, try pausing it and re-check. If it works, you need to set a rule in your antivirus or firewall to allow Link to reach your device.

It's the latest iTunes update that stuffed it. Remove iTunes, Bonjour, in fact delete everything Apple. Restart PC, do a Google search for a previous version of iTunes and install that. Restart PC, update Link to latest version from BlackBerry website. Restart PC. That should fix it. It is crucial to delete everything iTunes and Bonjour and restart PC after each step. Took me days to work this out. Hope this helps guys.
This fix is better than BlackBerry fix because it still allows iTunes sync

Also turn off auto update to iTunes and don't update it or it will break Link again.

Did exactly as you described but still still does not work. I don't have any 3rd party antivirus protection either as I rely on Windows Defender. I have also uninstalled iTunes so can't blame that either.
What can I try next ?

The same to me, try all and so far its not working, really I do not know how to solve this and apparently Blackberry for the very first time leave us completely alone, whatsapp will stop on Dec, BB link does not work and I spend 600 euros on this device to have full protection and I was convinced to believe that this was the ultimate mobile to work with....just bought an Iphone and now I will be working with both to see what happens and to take a decision on what mobile to work will be the one to rely on. I am Blackberry lover, but I confess that I am about to give up....

So are we stuck then? I'm thinking of upgrading the Passport to a Priv. Will WhatsApp continue to work on Priv?
