Not sure how close you are to salvation, I found an extensive thread on autoloaders and on page three is the August update that conite introduced:

this is the screen i get i selected option 3 from the fast boot screen. but on the autoloader screen on my pc it says this
You don't need to select anything on the fastboot screen, because you're already in fastboot mode.

As far as not detecting your device variant, can you tell me what your device PRD is? It's either written on the box or accessible by typing *#837837# into the phone dialer.

Ok, then the autoloader should run just swimmingly.

    Try again.

Remove your passwords and reboot to fastboot.

Okay i figured out the problem. it had to be extracted to the drive. some kind of way i was running it from the actual archived file.

now My Key2 has a dark screen with those different shapes alternating from a circle, triangle and a square.

does this mean it's still loading?

It usually takes a few minutes the first time you boot it.

Hold down the power button until it reboots. If it gets stuck again, go to fastboot and run the autoloader again.

Since you're going backwards, you may have to do a wipe.

If you signed into Google on your device, and set things up properly with cloud syncing, you will get pretty much everything back.

Your SD card, which is presumably filled with your media, won't be affected.

BlackBerry really should have come up with a local backup method. Sad! Not everyone is hip to the clouds and as such BB lost that clientele as a result.

Local cloud methods require expertise that only a few know how or have the time to invest, in an intranet, airgap tight setup.

I still like the idea of being anywhere in the world, and being able to setup a new device and be up and running in minutes without having to fuss with retrieving some kind of backup file somewhere.

It's also great to have everything instantly available and perfectly synced across all of my devices and computers.

It simply allows for a much higher resiliency, up-time, and data redundancy.

I trust Google's firewalls and security better than any bank, government agency, or other cloud service I have business with.

Google's entire business model would be decimated by lax security measures.

No doubt that poor passwords are the easiest attack vector.

No SIM card problem started 45 min ago on my phone after a restart.

Restarted it at least 20 times, also did the 35 second reset.

Yes it's the most recent update from a few days ago
    Yes, T-mobile

Turning off Wi-Fi seemed to stop the off/on signal and sim card cycle (for now) and I'm able to post on here with it.

Update: turned Wi-Fi back on and phone is back to normal. Seems a reboot on this new update has some conflict with Wi-Fi and current solution is to turn Wifi off, let it finish booting up and turning Wi-Fi back on.
