I've just got this new unlocked Passport and started thinking that I should insure this phone for lost, stolen, breaking.
Have you thought about it? You may have done already?
I'd like to get some ideas on this!
Mine never leaves my pocket or hand ,so i don't buy insurance, now if you drop it , that's a different problem.
Good for you.
I'm same way but I just can't afford buying another Passport if I loose this. So I've just start researching and reading this page. http://www.techlicious.com/guide/sho...one-insurance/
I'm thinking Worth Ave. Group now.
So anybody research the best coverage for a USA warranty? I definitely want lost or stolen included. $50 deductible would be nice.
I'm getting a bit scared with all the screen separation issues I've been seeing on these forums. I've taken advantage of my carrier's exchange program several times over the years for various issues. Obviously I don't have that option with the Passport. Thanx
I got talked/suckered into geeksquad....anyone have experience with them? I figure i'll get a brand new passport out of it at some point. my q10 starting having issues within a few months..first the speaker quit.
they allow up to 5 replacements in 2 years. sounds a bit crazy.
its costing me $10/mo and the deductible is $0-100 depending on whether or not you inflicted the damage yourself.

I used to work at BestBuy.
The smartphone warranties are fine; you should get quick and satisfactory coverage, usually a like new refurb if still available for most issues. I wouldn't buy their coverage for most other items they sell.
Garpt. Have you checked Woth Ave I mentioned above?
It looks decent so I contacted them and found out they can't sell me the insurance because I live in Canada!!
Damn it.
Anybody have bought an insurance for unlocked device in Canada???

Actually, I just went with Square Trade. $89.00 for two years if you pay it up front, comes to $3.75 per month. $75.00 deductible and accidental damage is covered along with any malfunction(s). Their reviews were very good. Thanks
SquareTrade doesn't cover loss or theft.
That's why I wouldn't go.

"Protect Your Bubble" used to cover loss/ theft. They were one of the few and no longer offer that coverage. In addition the co-pays are double or more, and the monthly payments are double the $3.75/mo I'm paying by putting $89.00 all up front. It begins to lose value to me, IMO. How much is a new passport going to cost a year or more after release to replace? Square Trade has excellent reviews.
Some carriers may still offer loss/ theft, but I don't have that option in the U.S.
A years worth of premiums + the deductible are not worth the added costs. I'll do repairs myself or buy a replacement device. I have Ghost Armor applied promptly on all my devices. My Passport is kept in a StilGut book case until my Vaja agenda case arrives. I use my Classic with the OEM holster. If someone is hard on their devices, and limited in self repair, then I can see the advantage of insurance.
