What version do you have installed? Not all versions play nicely.

You would be better off just buying her a "real" phone that works with today's apps. She is probably not going to be happy..... which means in the end you won't be happy.

If you follows these directions... it should work http://forums.crackberry.com/android...ctions-985344/

I had the same issue three years ago, talked my daughter into a Z10... worst thing I ever did.

thank you she likes the z10 cause of the battery life and cause BB never gave us any issues. I will try one more time to sideline and then see what happens.

The battery life? The Z10 is the worst of all BB's that I have used

    Blackberry Passport and Blue Classic

Yea I find that quip odd. I never got longer than 10-12 hours off the charger with the Z10 with different batteries.
Regardless, she would be a lot happier with a different phone since futzing with sideloading and out-of-date versions can get old fast. (an iPhone 5s or newer may be a good starting point)

    No it's still a BB10 powered phone.

PRIV, DTEK50 and DTEK60 are all the newer Android powered BlackBerries. But BlackBerry does very little to the phones (if anything) that would change the battery life vs most any other Android phone.

One good thing about the Z10 is the batteries were really cheap and easy to swap out....

Well it must've been either a low-end Galaxy or one that wasn't in great shape. Regardless, be careful. I still have to caution against BB10 unless she knows EXACTLY what she's getting. Which is a perfectly fine OS with little app support. Android compatibility here is only going to get worse and things like that old IG app will likely break down the road.
