Nothing to do with your OS version or Whatsapp itself, it's a BBW issue
Download beta zone from bbw and you'll be able to run Whatsapp beta instead
The same thing happening here. Could not able to update WhatsApp, face10.

WhatsApp for BB10 was discontinued last year.
Download WhatsApp from www.whatsapp.com/android.
Install app, tap OUTSIDE the box IF warned about Google Play Services.
Run patch from BlackBerry World:
