What ringtones are you using and for what app? Is the speaker working fine otherwise? Try playing the ringtone in your music player, and see if it's loud enough there. This probably has nothing to do with your OS version.

On my q10 sound became good on notifications for text and email BUT still extremely low ringtone. and Blackberrys support pretend that they never heard of this error ....
