    Virtual assistant tests show "failed" for playback on recording. I can hear callers on speakerphone or earplugs with jack but they can't hear me.

    Have you installed any apps that might be using the microphone?

    Go into Settings > Security and Privacy > App Permissions and select Microphone.... anything listed there? If other than BBVE, uninstall it for now, reboot and test.

    If no recent apps or no apps using the microphone.... reload the OS and test before restoring any data (do a backup). If it still doesn't work, replace the microphone (or the phone).

    Did this happen immediately after updating?

    If so, you may need to do a clean install with an autoloader to clear the gremlins.

    Seems like a service issue.

    Maybe try the autoloader first, just in case.

    i had one that failed like that. It is HW. If Virtual expert failed, you can try reloading and if that still doesn't work, your mic died is all. It happens.
