My KEYone doesn't get past the 'home' screen. It has 'Blackberry' in the centre of the screen and then 'powered by Android' at the bottom. I can turn the phone on and off, but get the same screen. I can't do anything else. What can I do? I need to retrieve the data, texts and contacts from the phone.
Try holding down the power button for 32 seconds - which should cause it to buzz 3 times.
I just tried that. It did not buzz 3 times consecutively, rather went off at about each 10 second interval and came right back on to the same screen.
That's what it is supposed to do. Unfortunately, if it didn't work, the only option left is to run an autoloader.
Did you have a password setup on the device?
I did not. I just swiped and had access to the phone.
Although that's not good practice, you are lucky in this particular case. You can run the autoloader in no-wipe mode.
Which model do you have? Better yet, which PRD (it will say on your box)?
