All this talk about is or isn't BB10 dead is of course conjecture absent someone having direct knowledge. The truth is either it will die or not. If it does, how will the average user know? Will the carriers send out notices? Will the phones stop making and receiving calls? Will calendars and contacts stop syncing? Will the OS become so porous viruses attak and shut it down? I'm holding out until the end. What will the end look like?

Much like the end of WebOS and BBOS. Fade to black.

Depends on how you define 'BlackBerry' and what they are to you.

Since BlackBerry has support agreements with larger customers, there will likely be an announcement when BB10 officially reaches end of life.

IMO any OS that is only receiving security updates and no new development, is a dead OS. So far as I am concerned, BlackBerry 10 is a dead OS. It's the best OS out there IMHO, but nonetheless, a dead OS.

BB10 isn't even receiving security updates. So far it's only receiving promises of security updates.

Yes, this is very true. I guess that means it's not even in a dead zombie state, it's just simply dead.
