I had to do a security wipe on Q10 and now everytime I swipe left or right it gives me some useful tips and takes screenspace. It has been two days like this already and don't know how to switch it off.

Did you complete the initial set up again when you had to go through the tutorial? That's what it sounds like it wants you to complete.
