Anyone know if you save a browser shortcut to your home screen if there is a way to make it open in the "private browser" instead of the regular browser?

You should use a separate browser for porn.

I'm not sure I'm following the logic since private browsing usually means you're making an effort to keep your browsing... well, private. But if you have the site linked from your homescreen then, what are you attempting to accomplish?

There is no direct way to open the private browser from the homescreen that I am aware of. But if you've tapped your shortcut then tap the overflow menu (3 dots, lower right) you can select "open in" to tap private browser.

Power Mac has the right idea. You're probably better served downloading a separate browser. For example, Sec Browser - it doesn't save your history, browsing by default. Or, you may wish to consider something along the lines of Privacy Suite Pro in BBW.

Does it save anything? I'm looking for a way to quickly access the site but not have any "junk" saved on the device such as cookies, etc. Though nobody will believe this, it's not actually for porn. Haha.

PSP does save the sessions. It compartmentalizes it from the rest of the phone though. More of a phone within a phone.

Sec browsers and others, should you consider that route are configured not to save the data.

I did stumble upon this: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/59989858

I haven't personally used it so am unable to vouch for it but seems to be a script that opens the native browser and automatically opens the built in private browser based on the description and reviews.

Yeah I use it the same way. Keeps ads from getting so invasive. Just because I go online shopping doesn't mean I want to be bombarded with ads from them.

Are you using privacy suite or sec browser, or something else? That's essentially what's bothering me is how invasive all this Internet tracking is. Type one thing into a browser and they're trying to sell it to you everywhere you turn.

Do you trust the developers of these programs?

I use the factory bb10 browser, that's all. Often I just open Private Browser from there, one more step but oh well...

Yeah, it's too bad we can't force shortcuts to open from there. Would be much nicer.

I just found out that Doo can make a Private Browser shortcut, so I made one for a blank search page. Nice addition.

Nice find. I have the app and didn't notice it had the feature.
