How od I reduce time for checking accounts?

This should be very simple yet I cannot figure it out. How can I make my phone BB Z10 check for emails, and text messages faster?

The past two days it has had a delay of almost 6-12 hours which seems way off and I've been sick at home, so I haven't gone anywhere connected to wi-fi with average signal, AT&T provider.

Any setting option to adjust this?

You need to go into advanced settings in the account sub menu in settings. I believe you can set polling speed if applicable or make sure you enable push if your account supports it

If you are having problems with text messages I believe this is a carrier network problem not something within the control of the handset

For Gmail and outlook, emails should arrive more or less instantly, if you use imap
