I read in a post long ago that with 10.3 we can lock media, files without using apps . Because apps like iLock, Hide my files are not secure and files are missing after some days.
Is there a way to lock files without apps in 10.3.1.1154?

No such option available. Central device lock is all there is.

Try change the files attribute to hidden though you need to do it using computer cause you cannot open the files properties in phone. Work on my nokia phone but never try it on bb10

I think maybe you remember it a little wrong. You can hide files without an app, but you can not lock them.

I have been using Hide Files and Folders by Runisoft for quite a while, and have installed several leaked OS's over that period of time. I have never lost a file, and honestly don't even see how that's possible. All the app does is rename the files with a preceding '.' causing them to not be recognized or shown by BB10. You can still see them using Android file managers such as Ghost Commander, and also from a desktop PC. They are just not viewable through the basic BB10 methods.

    I am aware @ signature. I was expressing a random, off-topic thought

N97 mini was a supposed improvement!

You can place your media that you want to hide in a folder and place a ".nomedia" file with them. This will prevent the media files from showing in Pictures, Videos and Music apps

create an empty txt file and name it ".nomedia" note there is no file name, just an extension. You could use an android file manager to do so

Or as Traxxmy said, you could put your desired files to hide in a folder. And using an Android file manager such as Ghost Commander, rename the folder just by putting a dot at the beginning. BlackBerry OS won't see then the folder nor its contents but Android will

I think he doesn't even understand what I'm saying. changing files /folders properties is too complicated for him judging from his replies.

I can understand what you guys have said. My question was how to do it without using an app. For creating ".nomeda" file or a starting folder with "dot". We need ghost commander. But even that is not enough. Because it shows files only in the Android folder in Device. Its not possible to do that with other files or folders in my device or media card.

What are you talking about? Click on external_sd. That is your SD card with all of its directories. I am not understanding you at all.
