I am thinking of getting a BB Passport.
The reason i am hesitating is: was using a Z10 previously. I have over 3000 contacts. After a year (probably when #of contacts exceeded a certain number or after the backup file got too big) backup with BB Link always failed (never finished). It is a known bug that BB NEVER fixed. My Z10's sw got more and more corrupt until the BB Link recognised the phone but could not connect to it. I never did factory reset as without a recent backup i did not want to wipe it. Phone ultimately died.

Now i want to restore the last backup into a future BB10 phone and be able to perform future backups with massive amounts of data. Does anyone have the same situation and what are you using to backup your contacts?

I was able to store almost anything on a huge SD card, except the most imporant stuff: contacts, calendar and sms. So I need sth to backup/restore that.

Sachesi software is supposedly able to do this (overcoming Link bug) but haven't tested that and not sure it's still working or awailable for download. Do any of you guys use Sachesi? Does it work on Windows 10?

I am particularly interested in answers from guys who have experienced similar backup issues (huge backup size, backup not finishing on Link) and are currently using a BB1o device, and able to successfully backup huge amounts of data (contacts etc).

Hope you are able to clear my doubts. Thanks!

Thanks Cobalt. I read the reviews & many say it has limitations, it can't get past 3500 texts etc....which is precisely my concern.

I may be wrong, but as I recall Ultimate Backup does not have a restore function.

Unless you have a problem with the Cloud. You can easily have a current backup your contacts with the option to restore simply by using a GMail or Outlook.com account for your Contacts.

My previous phone is dead, so I only have an old backup. I will break down my issues/questions:
    For initial restore:
    1. Will I be able to use the Link-produced BB-type backup and restore it to the (future) phone?
    2. Does that work with Ultimate backup (is UB able to work with BB-type backup)?
    3. Do you know if Sachesi still works for that matter?
    Thanks!
