    I want to use Link on my mac to back up BBM data only (and nothing else) from my old phone, so that I can restore it to my passport. How do I do that on Mac OS X?

    That I would like to know too.. BBM being a pretty hardcore communication app should have an alternate backup/restore feature for sure...

    BBM contacts are backed up according to your BBID.
    If you're talking about your conversations, I don't know how to save those and move them over. When you reload an OS, the conversations are lost. They do not remain open.
