    sudo apt-get install mtpfs mtp-tools

    sudo mkdir /media/MTPdevice

    sudo chmod 775 /media/MTPdevice

    sudo mtpfs -o allow_other /media/MTPdevice

    Run mtp tools to determine the vender and product id's

    Then
    gksu gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules

    Enter this as one line and replace the venderid and productid from the values you got from running mtp-tools

    SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="", ATTR{idProduct}=="", MODE="0666"

    Save the file then

    sudo service udev restart

    Now everytime You plug in your phone it will auto mount as MTPdevice

    you can unmount thru your file browser or disk manager or from terminal run
    sudo umount mtpfs
