I have a brand new Passport with 10.3.0.675 software release. I am in Luxembourg and my network is POST.

I tried to set up Gmail and encountered an issue: when on mobile network, I can send and receive e-mail correctly. But when I turn of data plan and turn on wifi, I still receive e-mails sent to my Gmail account, but cannot send any.

Anyone knows what the problem might be? I would really like to have the possibility to send e-mail via wifi.

    Thanks in advance,
    Luke

Go to Settings, Accounts, click on your Gmail account, and click on it once more to edit it. Scroll down to the "SMTP Server" section. Make sure it says the following:

Actually u don't need to turn off data plan. Turn on ur data plan & turn on wifi. It doesn't cost to ur data plan.

    Hi AnimalPak200,

thanks for the answer. Problem is - I have those exact settings, but I cannot send out e-mails over wifi (any wifi), with any e-mail account.

What else can be the reason?

    Best regards,
    Luke

Maybe your Internet isp is blocking outgoing smtp. They tend to do that in Canada to curb spamming I think.

I use the same smtp settings for the same e-mail accounts on a tablet - and it works perfectly fine.

Try another wifi network... like from a coffee shop. If it works, then you know something is wrong with your wifi
