How do I replace Z30 battery damaged by wireless charger-img_20140807_191905.png
My Z30 Battery life killed in 3 weeks since purchasing a Tylt qi wireless charger. Is it possible to get a replacement battery installed? I do have mobile protection from Verizon but doubt they'll replace a damaged battery that still works.

I have a Z30 and two Tylt Vu chargers. How did they damage your battery?

Probably talking of the only 9 hours of life at 100% battery. Although that is all i really ever get with heavy Daily use.

After checking out a few Crackberry threads it looks like I'm not the only with this diminished battery capacity. I originally thought my power tools app was the culprit but heard from others who were using a wireless charger and now have only 9 hrs on 100% charge. Apparently going back to the wall charger didn't help as the battery has been damaged.

Like I've always said, an estimate coming from just having unplugged your phone 1 minute ago cannot be trusted.

I only have been using the Tylt charger for 3 weeks and my Z30 is only 6 mos old.

You may have a point there. I just checked device monitor again and I'm showing 93% and 11 hours now. I used to show at least 24+ hrs on a full charge which enabled fairly heavy usage all day without recharging which is why I got this baby to begin with.

No issues here with using a wireless charger every night for the past six months. Still going to bed with 50+ % left.

I'm using a cheap Chinese $19 pad. Didn't even come with usb or plug - lol. For 3 months, I've used once or twice a week. Just openned my Escreen, and it reads battery health at 100% on a 4 month old Z30

So I have a few questions for OP.

    1. What does your E-screen report your battery health percentage?
    2. How often do you use wireless charging with your Verizon Z30?
    3. What OS and SIM card?
    4. Are you charging through any type of case?
    5. What brand USB and plug are you using?

    E screen battery reading -1 (?)
    Doesn't show percentage
    OS 10.2.1.2180

Even though your device monitor 2 days ago said 9 hours left on a full charge, how long does the battery actually last? That estimate may not be exact.

Deleted the Power Tools app yesterday and stopped using the wireless charger a few days ago and made it thru the day yesterday with my normal fairly heavy use and this after a few hours of use this am now at

which is much better. Now I'm wondering if was the Power Tools app killing battery or the wireless charger. I've only had the wireless charger for 3 weeks and it's been since then that I've had to plug in during the day. I'm not sure why the Power Tools app started to use so much of my battery (60%) even though I was only using the led function (no sound, no geofencing, etc). I already miss the led color option as I only use sound for phone, text, and reminders.

Took my phone off my Tylt Vu charger at 7 this morning and haven't sniffed another charger all day. 9 1/2 hours later, still at 36%. Had this device and the Tylt since last December.

I find that my Z30 feels much warmer after charging on the Tylt vs. a BlackBerry USB charger. Do you find your Z30 gets warmer using the Tylt?
