How do I recover "Backed Up" content from Blackberry Desktop without a working Blackberry?

Hi, The same day I received my new IPhone 6 my Blackberry Bold stopped working. I have all my info backed up on the Blackberry Desktop on my laptop. How do I get access to the "Backed up data' without a workable blackberry? I see there is a file (.bbb) created with my recent backup but cannot access contents. I see there are Blackberry Extractor software that will assist but not sure if it is a scam. Would you please advise? There must be a way without having to purchase a blackberry......

Not that I know of. What type of content are you looking for? The bbb file is your entire backup and the BlackBerry phone recognizes it. If there is a software that reads the info and breaks it apart....i have not heard of one.
