Just received my new Passport and unfortunately have two issues:
1 - need to get a nano SIM (on its way)
2 - Wifi reception is weaker than on my poor quality Samsung S4 mini.
I have read the suggestions (set up wifi router) on the various forums, but no change. Could it be that the missing SIM card entails poor reception because an aerial is not activated? One example: half a yard's distance from my router, I am on -35db, Passport sitting on the router -25dB, and one floor below the router I am on -65db. The S4 is 30% better than the Passport (I expected 50-100% better for the Passport).
Last official OS installed ( I think)

Thank you for a few thoughts.

Since it "BlackBerry" is connecting and you still get all the features of your WiFi maybe it is something technical to save battery life insted of having a high dB count and a low battery life.

    Cheers! From my STL-1

Have checked all power savings settings, this is not the reason. The connection regularly fails btw, so would be some power saving.
