and for some reason after doing a wipe on the phone i may have stop it to early and now the phone/software doesn't recognize the battery and I cant charge it or turn it on to connect to bb link to reload the software can you help

Try to get an autoloader for your device OS(it contains a debricking file).
Take out the battery, plug the phone into the computer, and run the autoloader.
Once the autoloader finishes, you should be okay.
