    *Sorry in advance, I'm not good at spacing paragraphs apart.
    So I'm very new to fixing phones and electronics in general, but I am currently trying (trying being the keyword in the sentence) to fix my dad's BlackBerry Curve 8530. It currently will not turn on or charge. Whenever i try to charge it, the white outline of a battery with a red x shows on the screen. Is there anything i can do to fix it or is it done for?

    The x on the battery is shown when the device doesn't detect a battery in it, maybe the battery is fried?
